What is Black Tide?
Black Tide is the exciting debut novel from Tom Kiralfy.
Raised in the era of Indiana Jones, The Mummy, Tomb Raider and Uncharted, Tom yearned for books that told similar globe-trotting, no-holds-barred, edge-of-your-seat adventures peppered with exotic locales, daring escapades, twists, turns, love, loss, and everything in-between.
After searching high and low for any such books, and coming away empty handed, he decided the only way he could get a captivating story like this was to write one himself.
A keen dabbler in short stories, Tom had finally found the inspiration for an international adventure that only a full-length novel could tell, and thus, the idea for Black Tide was born.
Black Tide tells the tale of Jacob “J.T.” Palmer and his ragtag group of marine salvagers who, through their own misfortune, are thrust into the middle of a centuries-long hunt for the elusive Treasure of Lima, a legendary Central American bounty worth over $200 million.
But J.T. isn’t the first Palmer family member to have a brush with the treasure; it was searching for this fabled loot that led to the unexplained disappearance of his grandfather, William, decades earlier.
Set against the relentless heat of the subtropics, Black Tide is an adventure for the ages, where J.T. will stop at nothing to be the first to find the treasure and restore the Palmer family legacy to what it once was. His grandfather disappeared searching for this undiscovered bounty, but not before he inadvertently started a chain of events that would echo through the ages and continue to have dramatic repercussions today.
Unfortunately, Palmer isn’t the only one looking for the treasure…
Pitted against an evil force also after the riches, who have already shown they’re not afraid to kill for it, Palmer and his team must navigate the dangerous, murky world of international treasure hunting if they want to survive.
Searching, not only for clues that will lead him to the treasure, but also for what really happened to his grandfather all those years ago, Palmer will travel the globe, risk life and limb, solve puzzles, crack clues, dodge bullets and more…much more, all in the pursuit of fortune and glory.
